Currently BUDDY is supported on iOS version 11.0 or higher and iPhone Model 7 or newer. We will be releasing Android support soon as well.
To receive all of BUDDY’s features, functions, and benefits, you will need a Fitbit Versa 2 or Ionic. However, you can still receive medication reminders and boundary alerts without a smartwatch.
You can send alerts to as many family members, caregivers, friends, and health professionals as you like and who will agree to receive them. Each will need to confirm his or her email address, create a BUDDY account, and download the app onto his or her iPhone.
During the BETA period, we are providing BUDDY for FREE to BETA participants only. In return, we kindly ask that you provide us with your feedback and stories about your hopefully awesome BUDDY experience.
Alerts are sent to 911 if you do not indicate that you are OK or family members and caregivers do not respond after a default period of 5 minutes. CODE BLUE alerts are sent to 911 immediately. It’s that simple – this avoids lengthy delays dealing with call centers, since your family, friends, and caregivers know you best.
Simplicity is our top priority. All loved ones really need to do is wear the stylish smartwatch. BUDDY takes care of the rest. Of course, a caregiver or loved one needs to scan in medications, and some smartwatches, like the Fitbit, will need to be paired with a smartphone.
